Events Diary for 2019 – please contact the organiser to confirm arrangements
(Please let the WebMaster have any details you would like to be included in the diary)
Drive It Day 2019 – 14 April 2019
2019 Drive It Day has now been booked at Heage Windmill on 14th April 2019.This is a week earlier than the official Drive It Day as the 21st is Easter Sunday and likely to be very busy on the roads etc. as it is the Bank Holiday Weekend.
The windmill is the only working six sail windmill still operating in this country. It is run by enthusiastic volunteers and comes highly recommended. The mill is open from 11am to 4pm with last tours at 3.30.
Drinks and snacks are available but there are picnic tables for those bringing a picnic which I would suggest in case they run out. Their own milled flour is often on sale in the shop.
We will be parked up in front of the mill and will be marshalled into place upon arrival.
Directions and admission prices (very reasonable!) can be found on Heage Windmill website in 2018 it was £4 for adults and £3.50 for those who have reached a certain maturity!. Heage is fairly near to the great metropolis of Belper between Ambergate and Ripley..
It would help if you could give some indication of whether you are likely to attend as Phil shall be blagging some goody bags for participants as usual.
